Budgie's second album is pretty great. Though it wasnt the revolutionary metal record the debut was. It follows the same direction. The opener Whiskey River sets things off nice, and Rocking Man is another bone breaking rocker. Rolling Home Again and Make Me Happy are a small breathcatcher as Budgie always stuffed their albums with hints of light acoustic folk, this time with a Beatle-esque sound. Though this is only giving way for the albums star cut Hot As A Docker's Armpit. Fueled with a great shuffle beat and powerful trademark Tony Bourge riff, it's sprinkled with mirachas and tambourine which started to become a usual on Budgie's sound which isn't a bad thing. Their funk influence was starting to show more here and it made the thick and fat guitars sound even cooler, somehow. Docker segues into Drug Store Woman which is another hip rocker. Though the album takes a small dip in quality with Bottled and Young Is A World, it picks up again for the closer Stranded which is one of the most underlooked Budgie cuts, heavy, loud, and packed with Tony Iommi'ish riffs. Essential listening for sure, the band would bounce back a year later with their 'star' album.

After making a great self-titled album Budgie continues by making another classic album. Although no-one hardly knows budgie, I can quarantee it's one of the greatest bands ever. The heavy tracks "Whiskey River", "Rocking Man", "Hot As a Docker's Armpit", "Drug Store Woman" (together with the instrumental song "Bottled"), and "Stranded" are the best Budgie - absolutely great heavy rock. "Rolling Home Again", "Make Me Happy", and "Young Is a World" are great peaceful tracks which are near The Beatles - just like the two tracks which were in their first album. This is one of my favorite albums - all the first five Budgie albums are classics - Budgie was great in 70's.

When people talk about heavy Budgie albums, they always mention "In For The Kill" or "Never Turn Your Back" but this one is the heaviest and most even of all. It flows really well from song to song with that early Rodger Bain Sabbath production. This the best of the early Budgie, real ugly hard rock. All the other albums have way to many slow moments throwing the balace off, but this one delivers thru and thru,Compared to the others mentioned this is just better and its only the second album.Check out the first Budgie also its got a lot of punch too.....
